Hotel Suecia is located right next to the Circulo de Bellas Artes
and is approximately seven miles from Madrid International Airport.
It opened its doors in 1956 in an inauguration by Price Bertil of
Sweden as a place for cultural exchange between Spain and Sweden. It
is perhaps for this reason that Ernest Hemingway chose Hotel Suecia
as his home at the end of the 50s. The hotel restaurant offers
international cuisine and Swedish specialties. On the seventh floor
are a bar, cocktail lounge, coffee shop, and sun terrace. The hotel
also offers room service, bell service, babysitting, concierge,
currency exchange, and valet laundry service. All rooms feature
Swedish antiques and are equipped with air-conditioning, TVs,
telephones, modem lines, safes, coffeemakers, and hairdryers. |
